It's a glorious Sunday morning

Remember I said I thought I had lost that previous blog. Well, I didn't. It appeared. So here it is. With more cheer that the earlier one.

I just put in two loads of laundry so if that's the only thing I do today, that's a good thing. This morning I will apply to a whole bunch of jobs per the direction of a friend who has appointed herself my job coach. She's great and I am so grateful to have her. I also fear I wouldn't figure out how to do this third blog as my blog coach Rebecca wasn't sitting next to me, but so far so good.

Here's a tidbit of information regarding the upcoming Netherlands-Argentina game. But before I share that, let me confess I am not a follower of the World Cup. However, many of my neighbors in Jackson Heights, Queens are. In fact, I don't even have to have the game on television. I just keep the windows open and I will hear the neighborhood cheer when someone scores. When the game is over, there is a spontaneous parade of cheering and honking (grr...) cars.

Few of you may know that the Dutch king Willem-Alexander's wife  Queen Maxima(vastly popular I may add) is from Argentina!!!  Wonder what the days leading up to that game will be like at the palace? Do I really care? No. But I am thinking the Dutch press mig
ht have fun with it.

Also, for those of you wondering "what's with the color Orange? Okay, the ruling Dutch royal family is called "the house of Orange." More formally, Oranje-Nassau. I knitted father a very long orange scarf that he dramatically draped around his neck at all time.

House of Orange is like the House of Windsor for the British Royal family. Taking the Windsor item a bit further. Those members of the British royal family who do not have a royal title like Prince or Princess or HRH and descend from Elizabeth and Phillip will have the last name Mountbatten-Windsor. The Earl and Countess of Wessex's children (that's Prince Edward and Sophie) do not have royal titles, so it's Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor.

I do wonder if Edward is resentful of his brother Andrew (The Duke of York). After all his two daughters are Princesses -- Eugenie and Beatrice -- and are HRHs. Hmmm..

Here's a photo I was able to search for and download all by myself. It's of the Dutch Royal Family at a sporting event wearing orange.

I am annoyed I just wrote a post and then lost it. I know. I need to save often and always.

So I start again, but am not as cheerful as I was 15 minutes ago.

For those of you who follow the World Cup, here's some small talk information for you. (I just saved. Need to develop that habit.)

The Dutch Queen -- Maxima -- is from Argentina. Wonder how that will play at the Palace when The Netherlands plays Argentina? am betting the Dutch press will have some fun with that, all in good humor I hope.

Some of you may also be wondering, why all the orange with the Dutch people and players. Why did my father ask me to knit him a long orange scarf many years ago. Well, the official name of the Royal Family is the House of Orange. Okay, super accurate would be Oranje-Nassau. (You Long Islanders, yes that where Nassau County got their name. It's Dutch.)

Here's a photo of the royal family at a sporting event. Note the color. (I saved again.)

I am more excited that I found this photo and was able to get it on this post with out the coaching of my Blog coach Rebecca.

Here they are. I have to learn the name of those three Princesses. Amalia is the eldest I believe.
Queen Maxima is wearing orange pants.

Okay I am done now with the caption but can't figure out how to get back into blog mode. So I will wrap it up until I figure that out.

Enjoy your Sunday.  We are bringing my father in law to Mass today. I don't mind attending Mass at all, though I am not Catholic. However, I wish the church would rethink the constant getting up and sitting down. I don't care for it.

And quickly I am writing another post. Went for a job interview today at Columbia Medical Center (important to note: I wasn't applying for a surgeon position.) I liked them and, I hope, they liked me. Just putting that out to the universe.
This was taken late 2011 at a lovely bridal shower given to me by all my lovely swing dance friends.
My hair isn't as dark or as straight at the moment. I still have that sweater, though.

My very first post. Ever.

I'm very thrilled to be starting this blog, today. Expect random musings on everything ranging from the royals to knitting and of course television.

Here's King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands and their three daughters.
The three princesses all have names beginning with the letter A so they are referred to as the A Team.
